Frequently Asked Questions How long are the sessions? A typical individual counseling session is between 50-55 minutes long.
How many times per week do I need a counseling session? For many, weekly individual counseling sessions are best, especially at the start of treatment (it helps us get a good handle on the problem). However, some clients desire to meet more or less frequently. We can discuss a schedule that will work best for you.
How many sessions will I need? The counseling process is different for each person. The number of sessions is determined by your individual needs and goals for counseling (which we will create at the start of counseling). Some concerns can be addressed in a few counseling sessions and for others it could take longer.
What is the counseling session fee? $110 for individual therapy sessions $130 for EMDR and the Flash technique treatment *I don't specialize in couples counseling (and don't see clients just for that). For any couples work that I do provide, that is as-needed and is done to support a client who is already in counseling with me. **If you are interested in private pay, I will provide you a Good Faith Estimate for services rendered. Please note, the GFE is only an estimate as treatment frequency depends on your and my availability.
Payment: I use an app called IvyPay, it is HIPAA compliant and user-friendly. I can enter in your credit card information on the HIPAA compliant client portal that I use for the tele-therapy sessions. I accept Optum, United Health Care, ComPsych for treatment. I do collect the copay after each session. How do I schedule my first appointment? You can contact me to schedule a consultation or to learn about my availability. You can email me at, [email protected], or leave me a message on my business cell phone, (818)262-7598. Consultations are for me to learn about your treatment needs, discuss your availability and insurance type and then I'll share with you the types of treatment and interventions use and professional experience. If you are reaching out because you feel that you are in a state of emergency (i.e. urges to hurt yourself or someone else), call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Where are you located? Therapy services are offered online only at this time.
