I offer individual counseling, and typically recommend weekly sessions to help build a strong therapeutic relationship as we address the difficulties you're facing. I provide teletherapy services conducted through a HIPAA-compliant platform, ensuring the confidentiality of our sessions. Treatment works best if you are at home or other remote location using a computer or tablet (rather than using a cellphone which tends to overheat). Please be aware that as a licensed therapist in California, so you must be physically located within California for our sessions to take place. If you travel outside of California, our services will need to be paused until your return. Kindly note that I do not complete disability paperwork (leave of absence from work) or Emotional Support Animal letters at this time.
In the sessions: During our individual therapy sessions, our focus will be on understanding your mood and your current coping techniques. My therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioral and mindfulness interventions. We'll explore how you typically manage your emotions and how you navigate the challenges you face. I'll offer suggestions and strategies to help you better navigate stress and anxiety. Additionally, I am trained in two trauma treatments, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and the Flash Technique and can incorporate this into our tele-therapy sessions. EMDR has proven to be an effective treatment in reducing the symptoms connected to trauma (such as being startled easily, feeling numb or anxious, avoidance and difficulty concentrating).
